As much as we love Korean cities, being able to escape the fast pace and crowds of people, is a godsend. Fortunately, just a 2 ½ hour bus ride from Seoul, lies the longest and most beautiful coastlines in Korea. With it’s peaceful seaside town feel and beautiful views, Sinduri Beach is the perfect place for a weekend getaway.
Things to do
Besides being a great place to relax on the beach and take a dip in the calm ocean, Sinduri is home to one of the top 8 tourist attractions in the area, the Sinduri Coastal Sand Dunes (태안 신두리 해안사구). These coastal dunes are the only dunes in Korea, and the wind swept mountains of sand overlooking the ocean create a breathtaking landscape to explore.
Located south of the sand dunes is the Duung Wetland (두웅습지), a lake of fresh water home to various species of birds, frogs and plants. Enjoy a peaceful stroll along the boardwalk surrounding the lake and take in the sounds of the birds and various insects.
Bit of a thrill seeker? Cruise around these sights and surrounds on ATV’s, offering you a fun and authentic experience of the Korean countryside. Or challenge your friends to a game of paintball, commonly referred to as survival game in Korea.
Ebenezer Pension (에벤에셀 펜션) is the perfect place to enjoy all that the Sinduri coast has to offer. Not only is it located right on the Sinduri beach, but each room has a beautiful ocean view. The gorgeous pool (yes, a POOL!) provides a great spot to sunbathe and swim. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and speak great English which is pretty rare (and extremely helpful).
The pension also offers ATVs and paintball (survival game). ATV rentals will set you back about 30,000 won ($25) per hour. The staff can even give you a guided tour of the nearby attractions, including the Sinduri Sand Dunes and Duung wetland as you zip along the beautiful Sinduri coastline.
